How it works
You tell us, in plain language, what you want alerts on, like “anything about Gemini in Texas,” “phone bans adopted by school boards” or “these 40 districts,” and we set it up as a filter on the same database behind the map. Change it whenever your work changes, as often as you like.
Every night our research checks all 50 states for board votes, policies, contracts and bids, state actions, petitions, polls and news. On any day something new matches what you follow, you get a daily report with a link to each source, which way it leans, how strong it is and how sure we are about it. On quiet days, you get no email.
Your alerts show both sides unless you ask for one. Subscriptions shape what lands in your inbox and have no say in what we research or how we score it. The method is on the Methodology page.

Will the site stay free?
Yes. The map, the pages and the data files stay open to everyone, and reporters and researchers are welcome to cite them. Paid plans pay for bespoke insights, delivered to your inbox.
How do payments work?
Payments go through Paddle.com, our online reseller and Merchant of Record, which also handles sales tax. You can cancel any time, and every charge can be refunded within 30 days, for any reason. See our Terms and Refund policy.
Is there nonprofit pricing?
Yes. Nonprofits pay $20 a person a month for Individual and $15 a person a month on Team. Nonprofit pricing also applies to public schools, public school districts and other public agencies. Tell us your organization when you sign up.
How does Team work?
Team is a group rate for teams of three or more. Everyone gets their own account and daily reports, set up however they like. Each week, whoever you choose also gets a free leadership digest that rolls up what everyone's alerts caught into one email.
Who are paid plans for?
Anyone who needs to hear about a slice of this quickly: people building or selling school technology, district and state leaders, advocates on any side, funders and reporters.
What counts as a signal?
One distinct data point, like a board vote, a policy, a contract, a petition, a poll or a news story, each traced to a source someone opened. We paraphrase sources, count private individuals rather than naming them, and tag interested parties like vendors and advocacy groups.
What if nothing new comes up?
Then you don't hear from us. Daily reports only go out on days something new matches what you follow.
